The reigning Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs began defense of their title in the opening game of the 2020 NFL season.

The Chiefs beat the Texans 34-20 to start the season 1-0. Houston had a 7-0 lead early in the game but struggled in their pass protection. DeShaun Watson was continuously pressured from a relentless Chiefs defense.

Kansas City tied the game in the second quarter then continued to dominate Houston in their home opener. Mahomes threw for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns finding Travis Kelse and Sammy Watkins for second-quarter scores. The Chiefs 32nd pick of the draft Clyde Edwards-Helaire had 25 carries for 138 yards and a touchdown making him another weapon for the Super Bowl Champs.

The Chiefs have over a week to prepare for the Los Angeles Chargers but they already look like they’re playing for another Lombardi trophy. The Texans have time now to rest and prepare for another challenge as they take on the Baltimore Ravens in week 2.
