Despite losing 2-1 to the Bruins in Boston on Thursday night, it was still a special game for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Team captain Shane Doan played in his 1,300th career game and became only the 10th player in NHL history to accomplish the feat with the same franchise.

Doan was the seventh overall draft pick in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, when the team was based in Winnipeg. His first season with the Jets turned out to be the last for the franchise in Canada before it was moved to Arizona and renamed in 1996.

The 37-year-old has racked up 853 points (349 goals, 504 assists) during his 18 season career, including an assist on Lauri Korpikoski's third period goal against the Bruins. This season, Doan ranks third on the team in goals (18) and has 20 assists.
