The Buffalo Sabres have traded center Torrey Mitchell to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a prospect and a draft pick, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.
Mitchell is currently in his seventh NHL season. He played the first four years of his career in San Jose before splitting the last three seasons with the Wild and Sabres.
This season, Mitchell has played in 51 games, averaging 15:20 of ice time per contest.
Earlier, the Sabres traded goaltender Michal Neuvirth to the Islanders in exchange for goaltender CHad Johnson and a third-round 2016 draft pick.
The Sabres currently have the lowest point total in the league with just 43 points, while the Canadiens have the highest total in the Eastern Conference with 87 points.
