Lightning limit playoff ticket sales to only Florida residents

The Tampa Bay Lightning are limiting first-round NHL playoff tickets for games at Amalie Arena to Florida residents only.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are limiting first-round Stanley Cup Playoffs tickets for games at Amalie Arena to Florida residents only, according to the team's Ticketmaster pages.

The team's ticket policy also claims ticket holders for the arena's Chase Club and Lexus Lounge will not be permitted to wear logos of visiting teams.

"Amalie Arena is located in Tampa, FL," reads the Lightning's ticket policy. "Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of Florida. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside the selected area will be canceled without notice and refunds given.

"Chase Club and Lexus Lounge ticket holders - please note that for all 2015 NHL Playoff Games at Amalie Arena, only Tampa Bay Lightning team logos will be permitted in these areas. Fans wearing visiting team logos will be asked to remove them while in the Chase Club and Lexus Lounge areas."

According to the team's website, single-game playoff tickets will be available for purchase beginning Friday.

The Lightning (47-24-7) are third in the Eastern Conference and have clinched a playoff berth with four games remaining.

In last season's playoffs, the Lightning were swept in four games by the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.
