Watch: Bruins’ Brad Marchand flips Senators’ Mark Borowiecki on low hit
Boston Bruins left winger Brad Marchand had a low hit on Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki during Tuesday night’s game at the TD Garden.
The NHL’s Department of Player Safety will review the hit, reports the Boston Globe’s Amalie Benjamin. Depending on the verdict from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety, Marchand could face a suspension for the hit.
During the first period, Marchand collided with Borowiecki, causing the defenseman to flip over on to his head after taking the hit. There was no penalty on the play, and Borowiecki continued to play in the game.

Marchand has been suspended previously for similar incidents. In 2012, Marchand was assessed a five-game suspension for illegally clipping Vancouver Canucks defenceman Sami Salo. Last season, the winger was suspended two games for tripping New York Rangers forward Derick Brassard.
The Bruins’ next game is on Thursday against the Montreal Canadiens in the annual Winter Classic. This year’s outdoor game will be held at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.
