London Knights forward Cliff Pu celebrates goal with handshake

After scoring the eventual game-winning goal, London Knights forward Cliff Pu eschewed the traditional celebration in lieu of a handshake with his teammate.

The Ontario Hockey League is all about transforming hockey-playing boys into hockey-playing young men and it looks like the London Knights are doing a bang-up job of teaching their roster some manners.

After scoring the eventual game-winning goal, forward Cliff Pu opted for a very professional handshake with teammate Max Jones, who assisted on the tally, rather than a conventional celebration.

Pu, a former first-round pick in the OHL draft who is 2016 NHL draft eligible, has nine goals and 19 points in 33 games on the season.

“Last practice, we were just kinda screwing around and we thought it’d be funny if we scored together,” Pu told Sportsnet’s Rob Faulds after the game. “It came to mind and we just did it.”

Looks like the 17-year-old is really shaping up to be a respectful young man. His folks must be proud!
