Lightning suspend Jonathan Drouin indefinitely

In his 19 games with the Lightning in 2015-16, Drouin totaled two goals and eight points. In the AHL, he has two goals and an assist in seven games.

The Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin has been suspended indefinitely without pay by the team after failing to report to Wednesday night's AHL game between the Syacuse Crunch and the Toronto Marlies, the team announced. 

Drouin, a former No. 3 pick in the NHL draft, was sent down to the Lightning's AHL affiliate on Jan. 2. Drouin's agent, Allan Walsh, said that his client demanded a trade in November. Scouts have since flocked to Syracuse's games to watch Drouin in action.

Drouin seemed please with Syracuse on Monday after the game.

“It's fun,” Drouin said. “This is a great group of guys. We have a lot of fun down here. Those guys, they want to win. It's the same thing when I come here, we want to win. We've been on a bit of a roll, so I think we're happy with that.”

Drouin participated in the Crunch's morning practice on Wednesday.
