It was a stacked lineup at the alumni game celebrating the Colorado Avalanche-Detroit Red Wings rivalry, but one of the greatest forwards in the history of the NHL stepped up and reminded fans that he’s still got the touch.

Former Avalanche captain and current general manager Joe Sakic beat Ty Conklin with a sneaky wrist shot in what could’ve passed for a goal in any NHL game these days.

Watch Sakic’s goal below.

The Avalanche alumni ended up topping the Red Wings alumni 5–2. In the middle of the trade deadline rush, it was nice to see some former players take a step away from the boardroom and enjoy the open ice.
