Canadiens’ P.K. Subban taken off the ice on a stretcher

Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban left Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres in the third period.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban left Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres in the third period. 

In an innocent-looking battle for the puck with Marcus Foligno, Subban stumbled to the ice, where his head made awkward contact with the posterior of teammate Alexei Emelin. As Subban collided with Emelin his head made an awkward movement.

Subban was left motionless and needed a stretcher to come off the ice. 

The Canadiens announced that Subban will be transported to a local hospital for further testing and that he has normal movement in his extremities. 

He appeared to give a thumbs up to the crowd on his way off the ice.

The Canadiens beat the Sabres 3–2, bringing their record to 32-30-6.
