Toronto Maple Leafs win top pick at 2016 NHL draft lottery

The Toronto Maple Leafs took home the top prize at the 2016 NHL draft lottery, and the right to pick from a bevy of potential top picks.

The Toronto Maple Leafs took home the top prize at the 2016 NHL draft lottery, and the right to pick from a bevy of potential top picks.​ They entered Saturday with the best odds to score the No. 1 selection.

The Jets were the biggest mover in the lottery jumping to No. 2 with the sixth-highest odds, while the Oilers drew the No. 4 selection despite having the second-best odds.

Among the top prospects in this year’s draft are American Auston Matthews and Finns Patrick Laine and Jesse Puljujarvi.

This year’s draft will be held June 24–25.
