Two-time U.S. figure skating champ Alissa Czisny out for Olympics

Czisny needed a top-four finish at this week's Midwestern Sectionals to earn a spot at the U.S. Championships, where the Olympic team will be selected. But after withdrawing Tuesday, she says she's not ''completely prepared to be competitive'' following a hip injury that sidelined her last season. Czisny had surgery in June 2012 to repair a torn labrum in her left hip, then dislocated the same hip in January when she fell during a competition.

The 2009 and 2011 U.S. champion says she's made progress in her recovery, but ''cannot rush the process without risking further injury.''

The U.S. Championships are Jan. 9-12 in Boston.
