KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) Austria's Otmar Striedinger led the second super-combined training session at the Sochi Games on a shortened course Wednesday.

Striedinger clocked 1 minute, 17.06 seconds. Peter Fill of Italy was second, 0.10 behind, and Kjetil Jansrud of Norway was third, 0.14 back.

The finish was placed halfway up the mountain to avoid conflicting with the women's downhill race, cutting off about 40 seconds of racing.

Favorites Ivica Kostelic, Alexis Pinturault and Ted Ligety placed 11th, 14th and 15th, respectively.

Bode Miller, who led Wednesday's opening training session, sat out, as did Aksel Lund Svindal for the second consecutive day.

One more downhill training session is scheduled for Thursday. Friday's race winner will be determined by adding the times together from one downhill run and one slalom leg.
