Rio Olympic organizers confirm football schedule

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) The opening football match for the Olympic men's tournament will be in Brasilia on Aug. 4, a day before the opening ceremony for the Rio de Janeiro Games.

The women's tournament will open on Aug. 3 in Rio's Maracana Stadium.

Both finals will be at Maracana, the venue for last year's World Cup final. The women's final is on Aug. 19 followed by the men on Aug. 20.

Organizers confirmed on Tuesday that seven stadiums will be used - two in Rio de Janeiro, and the others in Brasilia, Manaus, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, and Sao Paulo.
