LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) The International Equestrian Federation says Qatar and Palestine are among five Olympic teams which qualified to make their Summer Games debuts in Rio de Janeiro.

The FEI published the confirmed list of 43 national Olympic committees which will send teams across the three disciplines of dressage, eventing, and jumping.

Qatar and Taiwan make their Olympic equestrian debut in jumping, the governing body says.

Dominican Republic and Palestine teams have qualified for the first time in dressage, and Zimbabwe will compete in eventing.

FEI President Ingmar De Vos says: ''It's a testament to the increasing global appeal and universality of our sport.''

Eight different nations won medals in the six equestrian events at the 2012 London Olympics.
