BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) Hungarian lawmakers have submitted draft legislation to support Budapest's bid for the 2024 Olympics.
The draw law submitted Monday by members of Prime Minister Viktor Orban's Fidesz party aims to ''show that Hungary is capable of the fast, efficient and successful preparation and hosting'' of the Olympics.
Provisions include streamlining procedures to issue guarantees required by the International Olympic Committee, as well as demonstrating long-term plans for hosting the games.
Opposition parties are split in supporting the bid.
Budapest is competing against Paris, Rome and Los Angeles. The IOC will choose the host in September 2017.
