Report: Nesta Carter sample tests positive for banned substance

Jamaican Olympic medalist Nesta Carter is among the 31 athletes that tested positive in the International Olympic Committee's re-testing of doping samples from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, according to Andre Lowe of the Jamaica Gleaner.
Carter won gold at the Beijing Olympics as a member of the 4x100 meter relay team with Usain Bolt. Both were part of the team that won the event again in 2012 in London, and at the World Championships in 2011, 2013 and 2015. His re-tested A-sample reportedly contained Methylhexaneamine, and if the stimulant is found in his B-sample, he could face an 18-month suspension, according to the Gleaner.
Carter’s medals could also be stripped, meaning Usain Bolt could lose gold medals from the 2008 and 2012 Games in the 4x100.
B-samples belonging to 31 athletes from six sports and 12 countries were re-tested at a lab in Lausanne, Switzerland this week. Twenty–three athletes reportedly tested positive. The IOC is holding a three-day executive board meeting, where the organization is expected to announce the findings of the re-tests.

Jamaica won six gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the 2008 Olympics. Usain Bolt led the charge with gold medals in the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay.
