Tom Daley selected for Rio in latest bid for Olympic gold

LONDON (AP) Tom Daley is hoping his third trip to the Olympics will pay off with a gold medal after he was named in Britain's diving team for the Rio de Janeiro Games.

The 22-year-old Daley will compete in the 10-meter category and 10M synchronized event with Daniel Goodfellow.

Daley is part of an 11-member team announced by the British Olympic Association on Friday.

He says ''to have the confirmation that I'm going to my third Olympic Games is really exciting. Rio was amazing when we went in February and I can't wait to go back and see what the pool will look like.''

Daley won bronze at the 2012 London Games.
