France, Belarus, China, Spain, Turkey qualify for Olympics

France, Belarus, Spain, China and Turkey all earned spots at the Olympics by qualifying at the last chance women's basketball tournament this weekend.

Spain and China will join Canada, Serbia and Senegal in the same group as the U.S., which has won the past five Olympic gold medals.

Turkey, France and Belarus are in the other group with Australia, Japan and host Brazil.

Belarus earned the final bid in the Olympics after beating Korea 56-39 in the fifth-place game on Sunday. The other four teams qualified on Friday by winning their quarterfinal games.

Olympic play starts on Saturday, Aug. 6.
