Colombian weightlifter Oscar Figeuroa indicated he is retiring immediately after winning a gold medal Tuesday.

Figueroa, 33, won the gold medal in the 62-kilogram weight class by lifting over 700 pounds combined during his round. After his third lift and the gold medal locked up, Figueroa collapsed to the floor and began crying.

As the crowd applauded Figueroa, he took off his shoes and set them on the platform, a signal within weightlifting that you are finished competing.

Figueroa has competed in every Olympics since the Athens games in 2004. He also won a silver medal in London in 2012.
