U.S. sprinter English Gardner says Rio Uber driver stole her phone

American sprinter English Gardner says her phone was stolen by an Uber driver in Rio.

Gardner tweeted about it on Tuesday. She provided little other context. 

Crime in Rio de Janeiro had been a prevalent topic entering the games. Ryan Lochte and three other American swimmers were held at gunpoint in a club over the weekend, but were unharmed.

Gardner's tweet is below. 

Gardner, 24, finished seventh in the women’s 100 meters. She will run as part of the women’s 100 meter relay team on Thursday.
