Germany-Brazil clash becomes most tweeted game ever

Germany's 7-1 destruction of host country Brazil in the World Cup semifinals was the most discussed sports game ever on Twitter, according to Twitter.
The game received 35.6 million tweets, breaking the previous record which was set during the Seattle Seahawks 43-8 rout of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl LVIII in February, which received almost 30 million tweets.
The tweets-per-minute record was also broken when Sami Khedira's 29th minute goal made it 5-0 Germany. That goal produced a tweeting rate of 580,166 posts per minute.
Germany will play in the finals of the World Cup on Sunday, facing the winner of the match between the Netherlands and Argentina. Brazil will play the loser in the third-place game.
