Surely you've heard the proclamation by now. Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber has trumpeted for some time that he plans on MLS becoming one of the world's best leagues by 2022.

At that point, MLS will have at least 24 teams and will be over 25 years old. But will the league be one of the world's best, on par with the likes of Europe's big five: the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1? SI's Grant Wahl polled a number of MLS coaches and executives to get their thoughts on the topic and see what their feelings are. The prevailing notion: It's an ambitious claim, but MLS is on the right path of growth.
