Jahmyr Gibbs Leads Kalshi Market for Most Rushing Yards in NFL This Season

All signs point to Jahmyr Gibbs “breaking out” this season following two consecutive 1,200+ yard seasons. Kalshi’s NFL rushing yard leader market has Gibbs at the top, with the strongest price to lead the league in 2026.
Gibbs leads with a 16% price ahead of Derrick Henry, Jonathan Taylor, James Cook, and De’Von Achane, who are the only running backs with a 10% price or higher to lead the league in rushing yards.
2026 NFL Rushing Yards Leader - Kalshi
- Jahmyr Gibbs 16%
- Derrick Henry 14%
- Jonathan Taylor 13%
- De’Von Achane 11%
- James Cook 10%
Kalshi only counts rushing yards in the regular season and not the preseason or playoffs. Trading $10 on Gibbs to lead the league in rushing yards this season profits $49.
Unleash the Lion
Any way you look at it, Gibbs is set up for a career year on the ground. He’s running behind an elite offensive line led by Penei Sewell, whom most analysts and PFF regard as the best run-blocking tackle in the league. Three of the remaining four starters on the line rank in the top-35, including Tate Ratledge, who sits top-15.
As a whole last season, Detroit finished top-10 in yards per carry at 4.6, while Gibbs himself averaged 5 per carry, which was top-10 in the NFL on his way to 1,223 rush yards (7th) for the season.
One of the biggest factors is the departure of David Montgomery, who had 716 yards and averaged 4.5 yards per carry. The Lions traded Monty to the Houston Texans and replaced him with Isiah Pacheco. Pacheco is a step back from Monty’s production. Over the last two seasons, he rushed for less than 500 yards and 3.7 and 3.9 yards per carry, respectively.
With Montgomery now gone and Pacheco not as efficient as a runner, Gibbs could take on an even heavier workload in 2026.
One of the biggest factors coming into play is the Lions' schedule, which ranks among the easiest for running backs this season. In 2025, 14 of their 17 opponents for the 2026 season ranked in the bottom half of the league against the run. That includes seven in the bottom-10.
Gibbs and the Lions officially kick off their regular season in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints on September 13th.
