Examining Updated Super Bowl Market on Kalshi After Preseason Week 2

Week 2 of the NFL preseason is in the books and Kalshi updated its Super Bowl market. Some teams rose while others slipped slightly. The Los Angeles Rams remain favored at the top of the board.

Some notable teams that saw shifts include the Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Green Bay Packers. The Chiefs saw a rise to 6% meaning a $10 trade on them to win the Super Bowl profits $146.33.

Kansas City Chiefs

The hype on the Chiefs is starting to pick up as Patrick Mahomes injury is in the past and several other key contributors also regain full health. The rise comes mostly on name value as Kenneth Walker was the only offensive starter to touch the ball in Week 2. While other starters did take the field for one series, none of them made an impact.

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati’s price took a 1% jump to 5% following Week 2. The Bengals are 2-0 in the preseason, and the rookies have impressed. Fourth-round receiver Colbie Young has drawn 12 targets, catching five for 76 yards and a touchdown across both games.

Both of the Bengals’ offensive line picks, Brian Parker and Connor Lew, have also impressed. Parker has played both games and allowed just two hurries on 34 pass block attempts in Week 1. Lew made his preseason debut in Week 2. Neither has allowed a sack.

Fallers

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans held steady in price but lost ground with the injury of second year receiver Jayden Higgins suffering a season ending torn ACL. Higgins was set to start as the No. 2 receiver this season and will now focus on recovery for next year.

Green Bay Packers

As the Green Bay Packers continue to wait for an update on Josh Jacobs off-field issues, their price took a 2% fall to 3%. Jacobs serves as the bell-cow back for Green Bay with questionable depth behind him in MarShawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks, and Pierre Strong.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter went as far as saying “I will not be surprised if there's discipline handed out by the time the season starts."
