ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Defending world rally champion Sebastien Loeb of France hung on to the overall lead in the Acropolis Rally by a slim margin heading into the fourth and final day.

Loeb, winner of three of the day's eight stages, leads Petter Solberg of Norway by 10.2 seconds and Citroen teammate Mikko Hirvonen by 1 minute, 51.9 seconds. The trio also leads the overall World Rally Championship standings after five races.

Loeb started the day with a 6.5-second lead over Solberg's Ford teammate, Jari-Matti Latvala of Finland. Latvala closed the lead to just 1 second, but faltered in the day's fifth stage, losing nearly 3 1/2 minutes, and dropped to fourth place. He is 4 minutes, 44.6 seconds behind.
