Pure Michigan 400 starting positions
Jeff Gordon won pole position for Sunday's Pure Michigan 400 with a 206.558 mph speed, breaking the track's qualifying speed record. It will be the second consecutive Sprint Cup Series race that Tony Stewart has missed following the death of Kevin Ward Jr.
Starting in second on the outside pole will be Joey Logano, followed by Carl Edwards, starting third. Sprint Cup Series points leader Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start in the 25th position. Six-time NASCAR Cups Series champion Jimmie Johnson will start 30th.
Matt Kenseth, third in the Sprint Cup Series standings, will start 18th. Series Rookie of the Year contender Austin Dillon will start eighth, and Danica Patrick will start 14th. No drivers failed to make the field.
The green flag will drop at 1:20 p.m. ET Sunday.
