SPA, Belgium (AP) American driver Alexander Rossi will make his Formula One debut for Marussia at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, replacing Max Chilton during his contractual problems.

The team says the 22-year-old Rossi will race alongside Jules Bianchi until Chilton's contractual issues are resolved.

Rossi joined Marussia as a reserve driver ahead of last month's Hungarian GP.

Team principal John Booth says ''we are pleased to be providing with him the opportunity to make his Grand Prix debut,'' adding that he hopes to ''resume normal service'' with the team's established driver set-up as soon as possible.

Rossi has previous experience of competing in the GP2 and GP3 series.
