Ferrari has unveiled the SF15-T, a new Formula One car that will be driven by Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen of the Italian team.

Last season, Ferrari performed poorly, finishing with 216 points on the season, fourth behind Mercedes, Red Bull Racing-Renault and Williams-Mercedes. It was the Italian team's worst season in more than 20 years.

The team failed to win a race for the first time since 1993.

“Last year we had an unacceptably large gap in our performance,” technical director James Allison said, according to Ferrari's website. “We’ve tried to make sure that the weaknesses that we felt were particularly noticeable on the ‘14 car were put right for the ‘15 car.”

Maurizio Arrivabene, the team's principal, also said that the new car is at the very least aesthetically superior.

“Enzo Ferrari said a long time ago that the best car is the winning car. Last year we had an ugly car and it was a non-winning car," he said, according to Ferrari's website. "I like the car this year in terms of aesthetics. I don’t know about the performance (but) it’s really sexy."

The most striking features of the James Allison-designed car are the elongated nose and heavily revised sidepods. The car will debut this Sunday at pre-season track testing.
