MADRID (AP) Organizers say a co-pilot of a race car died in an accident during a rally on Mallorca on Saturday.

Race organizers say in a statement on the Oris Rally Clasico website that co-pilot Jose Lumbreras died after the car driven by Carlos Iscar crashed at the five-kilometer mark of the course.

Spanish news agency Europa Press reports that Lumbreras died from a resulting fire in the car.

Race organizers say Iscar is in ''stable'' condition in a hospital on the Mediterranean island.
