IndyCar rookie Karam gets ride with Ganassi for New Orleans

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Sage Karam will return to the No. 8 Chevrolet for team owner Chip Ganassi at the IndyCar race in Louisiana.

Karam will make his second straight start for Ganassi this weekend at the Grand Prix of Louisiana at NOLA Motorsports Park. He finished 19th in the IndyCar season opener at St. Petersburg.

Karam finished ninth in his series debut last season at the Indianapolis 500. The 20-year-old Karam was the youngest driver ever in the series for Ganassi.

The former Indy Lights Champion was the youngest in history to win the title at 18 years old in 2013.

He signed a multiyear deal last season as a CGRT development driver which began with the 2014 Indianapolis 500. He drove in a car fielded jointly by CGRT and Dreyer & Reinbold Kingdom Racing.
