Westbrook, Valiante win IMSA Tudor race at Monterey

MONTEREY, Calif. (AP) Richard Westbrook and Michael Valiante won the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship's Monterey Grand Prix on Sunday at Mazda Raceway to take the series lead.

Westbrook finished in the No. 90 VisitFlorida.com Racing Chevrolet Corvette Daytona Prototype, beating the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP driven by brothers Ricky and Jordan Taylor by 1.351 seconds.

''We worked really hard for this,'' Westbrook said. ''We got out mojo back in Long Beach and I'm so pleased to get a win with this awesome team.''

The winners completed 112 laps on the 2.238-mile course in the 2-hour, 40-minute race.

In GT Le Mans, the two BMW Z4 GTLM cars of BMW Team RLL topped the podium with No. 24 of John Edwards and Lucas Luhr edging the No. 25 driven by Dirk Werner and Bill Auberlen,

In Prototype Challenge, Chris Cumming and Bruno Junqueira won from the pole in the No. 11 RSR ORECA FLM09. In GT Daytona, Spencer Pumpelly and Patrick Lindsey also won from the pole in the No. 73 Park Place Motorsport Porsche 911 GT America.
