WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) Helio Castroneves will start at the back of the field for the 250-lap IndyCar race Sunday at the Milwaukee Mile after arriving late to check in for his qualifying run.

Drivers are required to arrive at pit lane 10 minutes before their qualifying run. An IndyCar spokesman said Castroneves missed that time when qualifying was held earlier Sunday, so he was required to start at the back.

It's a setback for Castroneves, who was fifth in the standings going into Sunday's race at the Mile, 77 points behind Team Penske teammate Juan Pablo Montoya.

There were 24 drivers scheduled for Sunday's qualifying run.
