Dale Coyne taps Enerson for final 2 IndyCar races

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) RC Enerson, who made his IndyCar Series debut a month ago at Mid-Ohio, will drive Dale Coyne Racing's No. 19 Honda in the final two events of the IndyCar season, the team announced Thursday.

The 19-year-old Enerson, who began the season in Indy Lights, was quick from the outset at Mid-Ohio and clocked the fastest race lap of any Honda driver. He ran out of fuel coming to the pits and finished 19th after going a lap down midway through the race.

Enerson's next start will be Sunday at Watkins Glen International. He tested on the 3.37-mile layout on Aug. 11.

Watkins Glen International is a special place for the team. The late Justin Wilson gave Dale Coyne Racing its first IndyCar win in 2009 at the Glen after more than two decades of trying. The triumph came in Coyne's 558th entry since 1984 as a driver-owner.
