The National League Wild Card playoff game between St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves is being played under protest after a controversial infield-fly call in the eighth inning, according to TBS and other sources:

The Braves' attempt to come back from a  6-3 Cardinals' lead was thwarted when left field umpire Sam Holbrook made a late infield-fly rule call on a pop-up in shallow left field off the bat of Andrelton Simmons. The ball dropped safely between left fielder Matt Holliday and shortstop Pete Kozma. The call left the Braves with two outs, rather than loading the bases with one out.

Some of the spectators in Turner Field protested the call by throwing debris onto the field, forcing both teams to their dugouts.
