The Yankees have reportedly made a contract offer to Kevin Youkilis, according to a report from ESPN. General manager Brian Cashman declined to confirm the offer, but sources said a one-year, $12 million deal was offered to the third baseman.

The Yankees are trying to lure Youkilis to replace Alex Rodriguez, who will undergo surgery on the labrum in his left hip in mid-January and is expected to need four to six months of recovery.
