Report: Luol Deng doesn't travel with Bulls ahead of Game 1 vs. Heat

According to a report, Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng did not travel with the team and was not in Miami as of Sunday night, less than 24 hours before the Bulls were scheduled to take on the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Comcast SportsNet Chicago's Aggrey Sam reported that Deng did not travel with the team as he battles a horrid case of a viral flu. The illness forced him to miss both Games 6 and 7 of the Bulls' series against the Brooklyn Nets.

Deng was released from Rush University Medical Center on Saturday afternoon, according to The Chicago Tribune. But Sam reported that Deng had to be re-admitted to the emergency room in Chicago on Sunday morning.

Deng tweeted that he was first taken to the emergency room on Wednesday, and his symptoms revealed that he might have meningitis. He underwent a spinal tap that ended up causing further complications and requiring further hospitalization.
