When college basketball teams come to the nation's capital to play George Washington, the court will give those teams quite a history lesson.

The school unveiled their new court which is design to incorporate three structures that are very familiar to D.C. residents: the Capitol building, the White House and the Washington Monument.

The school released the sketch on Monday, a day after the school's graduation ceremonies.

"I was born and raised in the Capital region, so this city is special to me," GW coach Mike Lonergan said in a statement. "This new court design has added meaning as I have spent the majority of my life in our nation's capital first as a student then as coach. We will play with great pride on this new floor."
