Former NBA player Mookie Blaylock was charged Monday with second-degree vehicular homicide for allegedly causing the wreck that killed a 40-year-old woman, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Blaylock, 46, was also charged with improper lane change, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving on a suspended license and crossing into the median for the Friday afternoon wreck in Jonesboro, Ga. All of the impending charges are misdemeanors.

More from the AJC:

Blaylock is accused of crossing the center of Tara Boulevard, causing a head-on wreck that killed Monica Murphy, a front-seat passenger in the other vehicle, according to police. Police say Blaylock was driving on a suspended license.

Blaylock was seriously injured in the wreck and remains hospitalized.

Blaylock is a former NBA All-Star who played 13 seasons with New Jersey, Atlanta and Golden State.
