Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant announced Friday on Facebook that he will make his season debut Sunday against the Toronto Raptors.

Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni had said that Bryant had a "pretty good" chance of playing when the Raptors come to town Sunday night — and then he said he didn't know.

Bryant, who tore his left Achilles in April, was medically cleared for all basketball activities and has been practicing the last few weeks. But D'Antoni decided to play coy rather than make a definitive statement about the 18-year veteran, most likely because it was Bryant's decision to make.
