Panthers' WR Steve Smith leaves game with knee injury

The Carolina Panthers lost wide receiver Steve Smith to a knee injury in the first half of their win against the New Orleans Saints.

USA Today reports that Smith injured his knee while running a route in the first quarter and was taken to the locker room, although he did return to the field for one play in the second quarter before being declared done for the day.
