Ohio State University athletic director Gene Smith received a pay bonus of $18,447.94 when Logan Steiber won the NCAA championship in wrestling at the 141 pound weight class, according to the Associated Press' Rusty Miller.

Smith has held the athletic director position at Ohio State since 2005 and last year signed an extension that provides him with bonuses for "exceptional athletic achievements" at the school, which range from a Final Four appearance to individual titles.

The school's current contract with Smith runs through 2020 and includes a base salary of $940,484 with bonuses increasing his pay up to $1.5 million a year.
