Report: Knicks president Phil Jackson told Raymond Felton he will be traded

Coming off the worst statistical season of his career, Knicks point guard Raymond Felton was told by new team president Phil Jackson that he will be traded in the offseason, Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv reported on Friday, citing a league source.

Felton turns 30 in June and is due $4.36 million in 2014-15 with a player option for $4.54 million in 2015-16, Zagoria reports.

The nine-year veteran of the Bobcats, Nuggets, Trail Blazers and Knicks averaged a career-low 9.7 points per game last season. His 5.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 39.5 field-goal percentage were also below his career averages, and he missed 17 games with groin and hamstring injuries.

He was also arraigned on two felony counts of weapons possession in February.

Writes Zagoria: "In February, one NBA executive told SNY.tv: 'Felton is the worst starting point guard in the NBA. I’d take 10 college point guards and about 30 NBA backups over him right now.'"

The Knicks have veteran point guard Pablo Prigioni, who turns 37 on Saturday, under contract for another two years.
