Former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins is scheduled to interview with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers about their coaching vacancies, according to USA Today's Sam Amick.
The report indicates Hollins has seen his popularity rise after Memphis' front office was cleared out last week. Hollins spent five full seasons as the head coach of the Grizzlies, amassing a 196-159 regular-season record and 18 playoff wins before being fired following the 2012-'13 season.
"The Grizzlies' recent firings of CEO Jason Levien and assistant general manager Stu Lash appear to have helped [Hollins'] case. Levien spearheaded the decision to not re-sign Hollins and instead promote former Grizzlies assistant Dave Joerger last summer, and it was widely known that his ousting was largely a result of major philosophical differences between Hollins and the then-management team."
