Vincent Kompany and Manchester City beat Manchester United 2-1 in Monday.

Police are investigating footage to ascertain whether a fan racially abused Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany as he gave a post-match TV interview following the derby against Manchester United.

Greater Manchester Police say they have received no complaints regarding the alleged incident but have been "made aware of this footage by the Manchester Evening News'' newspaper.

A police statement released on Tuesday says "the force will work with both clubs and review any footage to investigate the incident.''

Kompany was giving an interview to match broadcaster Sky Sports in the tunnel after City's 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Monday when the incident took place.
