Houston Dash enters NWSL as expansion team

BBVA Compass Stadium will be home to a new soccer team, with the women's expansion club Houston Dash set to join NWSL.

HOUSTON (AP) - The National Women's Soccer League has announced the addition of its first expansion team - the Houston Dash.

The team will be owned and operated by the Houston Dynamo of MLS and will begin play in the 2014 season.

The National Women's Soccer League has eight other teams and is set to play a 24-game schedule in its second season. The Dash will play at BBVA Compass Stadium, where the Dynamo play and will host 12 home games next season.
