CSKA Moscow will face a variety of sanctions from UEFA as a result of fan behavior at a recent Champions League match against AS Roma, UEFA announced Friday

CSKA will play its next three UEFA home matches behind closed doors, has been fined €200,000 and will not be allowed to sell tickets to supporters for the club's next two Champions League road games.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: 'There's no racism' in soccer

The sanctions come as a result of fan violence and racism during CSKA's loss to Roma in Italy in September, when fans of CSKA began tossing flares at Roma supporters during the second half.

CSKA's matches against Manchester City on Oct. 21 and Roma on Nov. 25 will be played in empty stadiums. The club will be barred from selling tickets to matches against Man City in England on Nov. 5 and in Germany against Bayern on Dec. 10.

CSKA supporters have been accused of racist and dangerous behavior in the past. The club played its match this week against Bayern Munich behind closed doors as punishment for fan racism against Viktoria Plzen last season, and City's Yaya Toure said he faced racist taunts from CSKA fans during an October 2013 match in Moscow.

UEFA charged three more clubs—Galatasaray, Borussia Dortmund and Basel—with fan misconduct as a result of incidents during Champions League matches this week. Decisions on possible sanctions in those cases will be announced Oct. 16.
