Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud 'ahead of schedule' in recovery
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said striker Olivier Giroud is "ahead of schedule" in his recovery from a broken leg, according to BBC Sport.
Giroud broke his leg in late August in the final minute of extra time during a 2-2 draw with Everton. The 28-year-old then underwent surgery, and it was initially believed that he would miss four months.

"Olivier Giroud is recovering very well," said Wenger. "The operation went perfectly. I believe he is ahead of schedule in terms of rehabilitation."
Following Giroud's injury, Arsenal acquired striker Danny Welbeck on a transfer from Manchester United. Welbeck has four goals and one assist in six games with the Gunners so far.
Forward Theo Walcott, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in January, returned to full training on Monday. He is expected to be fit again sometime this month.
Arsenal is currently in eighth place in the Barclays Premier League with 10 points. In its last Premier League game on Oct. 5, the Gunners lost 2-0 to Chelsea.

The Gunners are also currently playing without midfielders Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta and defender Mathieu Debuchy.
Arsenal next hosts Hull City on Oct. 18.
