Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale is doubtful for the team's upcoming matches against Liverpool and Barcelona with a buttocks injury, The Guardian reports.

Bale, 25, has not played since Wales' Euro 2016 qualifying match against Cyprus last Monday, playing the entire 90 minutes. He did not play during Madrid's Primera Division win over Levante and reportedly sat out practice on Sunday.

“After tests carried out on Gareth Bale by the Real Madrid Sanitas medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the right pyramidalis muscle. His progress will be monitored,” the team said in a statement on its website.

Madrid travels to Liverpool for a Champions League match on Wednesday and plays Barcelona in El Clasico on Saturday.
