LONDON (AP) — Newcastle produced a rousing second-half fightback to beat Tottenham 2-1 in the Premier League on Sunday and further ease the pressure on manager Alan Pardew.

Halftime substitute Sammy Ameobi equalized for Newcastle within seconds of the team kicking off the second half and Ayoze Perez scored his first goal for the club to seal victory in the 58th minute at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham dominated the first half but only had Emmanuel Adebayor's 18th-minute header to show for it. With just one win in their last seven league games, Spurs are now three points off the relegation zone.

Pardew was under severe pressure a month ago with Newcastle bottom of the standings, but seven points from the last three games has lifted the team away from danger.
