Legendary France, Arsenal, Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry retires
Former Arsenal, New York Red Bulls and France striker Thierry Henry announced his retirement Tuesday, ending his 20-year career. Henry will become a television analyst for Sky Sports.
The 37-year-old was a member of the France teams that won the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship.
“It is now time for a different career path and I am pleased to say that I will be returning to London and joining Sky Sports,” Henry said. “I will hopefully share some of the insights, observations and experiences I have learnt over the years with you guys. I have had some amazing memories (mostly good!) and a wonderful experience.”
Henry, who holds the French record of 51 goals in international competition, began his career at Monaco and also played for Juventus, Barcelona and the Red Bulls of Major League Soccer. In his final season with the Red Bulls this year, Henry scored 10 goals and recorded a team-high 14 assists, helping lead the club to the Eastern Conference finals.

He is fourth all-time with 175 English Premier League goals and is Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer with 228 goals in 377 games. Henry won the Champions League in 2009 with Barcelona and also has two La Liga titles.
